Condenser Coils Microchannel

Heatcraft® quality coil construction is available for Condenser, Desuperheater, and Reheat applications. Heatcraft® brand of refrigerant condenser coils are manufactured by Modine in Grenada, MS, and ensure proper performance and longevity.

Whether the condenser coil is in an HVAC or refrigeration system, its function is the same. It is one of the four primary components in mechanical-compression system: condensing coil (usually located outside), compressor, thermostatic expansion valve or capillary tube, and the evaporator coil (usually located inside).

Each of these do their part in converting liquid refrigerant into a gas (in the evaporator coil), and then back into a liquid (in the condenser coil). In the refrigeration/HVAC cycle, the “cooling” is effected by “boiling” a refrigerant (R134a. R502, ammonia, etc.) in the evaporator coil by absorbing heat from the air moving over its fins and changing the refrigerant from a liquid to a vapor (the amount of heat absorbed is the latent heat of evaporation for the specific refrigerant being used).

Coil construction is available for Condenser, Desuperheater, and Reheat applications.

Condenser – This coil takes the superheated vapor from the compressor and cools that vapor down to saturation. It then completely condenses all of the vapor into liquid and continues to sub-cool the resulting liquid to a desired temperature below saturation.

Reheat – This is a hot gas reheat coil which takes the superheated vapor from the compressor and cools the vapor down to saturation. It then continues to condense a requested percentage of that vapor to a liquid.

Desuperheater – This coil takes the superheated vapor from the compressor and cools that vapor down to a requested temperature above saturation.
